Mum was also blown away but the professionalism and effort you put in, and the time you have taken to get to know her. She was also thrilled you could join with us yesterday to share her 90th birthday. Fay Writes Her Story
I need to thank Joanna for spending the past year guiding me through writing my story. She would type out pages I’ve written and that I’ve scribbled over, adding a sudden thought that would come to me during the night, and then taking out bits that I’d already written about. She has had a lot of patience trawling through my many photos albums to add photographs of family over 80 years. At last, we are at the final draft. Thank you, Joanna, for your friendship, laughs and a few tears I’ve tried to hide over the year of reliving my life with pen and paper. Thanks for your computer skills, putting it all together to keep for my daughter to read when I am no longer here, and a second copy for the ‘drawer.’

"I was prompted by my children to finally put in motion my formalizing of the memories of my life. I am 73 years young and my growing up years were in Canada. My two children and four grandchildren have heard many many stories of my life but encouraged me to get them written down. As I am a great procrastinator I knew I knew that I would need help to keep me on track. As a retired Hospice Nurse I was familiar with the process and how important it is. So my daughter did some internet research and together we had a meeting with Joanna.
After meeting Joanna and feeling her warmth and enthusiasm, I knew that I would be comfortable with working with her. Plus her previous work and life experience gave me confidence.
The weekly interviews were enjoyable and also felt very therapeutic as I reviewed aspects of my life, both the positive and not so positive experiences.
